I am writing to recommend Alison Burrell as a celebrant. My mother died last year and Alison was the celebrant.
Alison came to see me at home and we spent a long time together discussing the funeral, my mother, our family’s wishes and the music we would like played. We sat down together and listened to music and discussed that in relation to the respect and dignity we were trying to achieve at the funeral. Alison then gave me a draft of what she thought was appropriate and again, with genuine interest we discussed what was being said and then made a few changes.
At the funeral Alison was caring and compassionate and spoke with warmth and feeling. No one really prepares you for the day, but with Alison we felt comforted by the sharing and the team effort she had created and by her support.
It was a real pleasure for me to be able to deal with Alison and to have her as the celebrant for my mother’s funeral.
